About Us

Dr. Jeanette Carpenter was born in New York City and raised in Chesterfield County, VA. She graduated from The College of William and Mary in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and a minor in Dance. In 2004 she earned her Medical Doctorate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and then went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine from VCU’s Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program, where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr Carpenter is Board Certified in Family Practice with specialized training in Women’s Health/Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a certification in plant based nutrition. Her medical interests include preventative medicine with additional expertise in all aspects of Women’s Health.

Dr. Carpenter is fluent in Spanish and enjoys travelling abroad to Spanish speaking countries, including Honduras for a medical mission trip. Dr. Carpenter has also been involved in teaching family medicine residents, medical students, and nurse practitioners. She has served as an OBGYN and Family Practice Attending Physician for Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program for the last five years. Dr Carpenter earned an outstanding teaching award through her work as an Assistant Clinical Professor at VCU/MCV School of Medicine.

Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA but went to high school in Chesterfield County was a nationally ranked high school athlete in track and field and continued his athletic career at the College of William and Mary. He received his bachelors of science in Kinesiology from the College of William and Mary in 2000. In 2003 he received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. During his undergraduate and graduate work he was involved in research studies of varied movement disorders and diseases, presented at state and national level professional conferences. Since that time he has worked as an orthopedic Physical Therapist focusing his rehabilitation on maximizing function and includes education on prevention of further injury secondary to body asymmetries and movement dysfunction.

He has continued his educational pursuits by attending over 20 courses related to functional impairments and movement disorders and has spoken at symposiums on topics ranging from balance/fall prevention to back pain management.
